China Dairies 2 (The documentation)

After the initial offer letter, comes the real task. Getting documents having it validated and finally leading to the work permit before one can apply for the VISA. So, once I confirmed my interests in joining the organization, I was given a list of documents I will need to scan and send the authorities via mail. Just for general information, this is a process where the organization procures VISA for the employee (in this case me). After a good number of email exchanges about the clarity of the documents and other small hiccups, the first stage of real documentation was when I needed my degree certificate to be attested through the External Ministry, and some other ministries in Delhi where I had my Degree from. Otherwise a lengthy process, but things move easier with money. After a lot of research, I decided to go to the Delhi High Court, without a clue what to expect, I was greeted by one person who identified himself working under a certain advocate. I told him, I needed to g...

China Dairies 1 (Job application)

Like I promised, "My China Dairies", let me start from the beginning. I was still working in an MNC when I saw a job opening in my social media, Facebook to be precise. It was a job of teaching English at a University. It sure sounded fancy to me. So, I clicked the link saw the ads and was pretty impressed. Without much thought I kept pursuing a course (TESOL ) which was required for teaching in case one had no prior teaching experience. I wasn't very serious about getting the job but for my own self confid...

The Chinese experience for a small town Indian girl

Going to China, teaching there, in a University sounded like a distant dream for a small town girl like me. I am not the best nor the worst, I am quite average. My friends could easily agree on that. The only difference, maybe, my hopelessly optimistic mind and the courage to take my chances. Why is it important ? I asked myself this question many times before I could actually think of one. That is precisely why I procrastinated for a year and a half before blogging about it. The reason being, I have something to share, an experience, my view about living in China and also the most important part, to answer some my friend's questions. I felt it would be crude injustice to my experience, if each time someone asked me about China, I   paraphrased into amazing experience. So there has to be some thing more legit to justify my own experience. It was extremely uncomfortable at first because I am a very private person so it takes even more courage to post something personal. ...
